Monsoon season is here! The most beautiful time of year in the Sonoran Desert. The snowbirds who leave to escape the desert heat have no idea what they're missing. We had a good old-fashioned ripping monsoon storm two days ago, a real gully-washer. I remember when we used to get one nearly every day during the season. I also recall a few past years when we barely got any. This year looks promising - it's rained hard twice in the past week and more predicted for the coming week or two. Water, elixir of life. So grateful to receive it.
Still working on the mural. Almost done. Starting to put in a few critters. These were taken a few days ago; have finished the big saguaro since then. All that's left is some more animals, touching up a prickly-pear, and the chollas in front.
